VisitCairngorms

Run Run Rudolph

Our spoof of the ‘smile less’ Thomsons teddy bear who gains back his smile on a sunny beach holiday in Jamaica saw a reindeer take the place of the bear.

With the focus on festive family fun, the reindeer ice skates, takes a trip on the Cairngorm funicular railway and meets his real life counterparts and has an appointment with the man with the bag who gifts him a reindeer friend for Christmas.

We pride ourselves on attention to detail – to the point of unpicking the stitching on the snouts of four reindeer so that the smile could be stitched back on in stages throughout the filming. But we didn’t count on having to carry sacks of reindeer food up the mountainside to encourage the herd to approach the camera!

Our ten month campaign aimed at the Scottish press, covered summer, winter and October breaks, food and drink, hostelling , cycling and golf  netted £1.6 million worth of media coverage for the VisitCairngorms area.

Feature articles appeared in Metro, The Sun, The Daily Mail, Scots Magazine and BT.com.
